# Write a compelling guide description
A guide description is one of the core feature that convince players to use or [[Sell your Live Guides|buy]] your [[live guides]]. It is largely responsible for convincing them that your guide-- and your guide only -- will make them great players! It's main goal is to give players an insight into what they can expect to see in-game if they download your [[Live guides|live guide]]. We recommend providing information about 1) You 2) the content of the guide and 3) how players will benefit from that content.
## You --- You are the guide creator and players will choose to try your guide partly based on your track record. Showcase your accomplishments to convince players that you are the right person to coach them. Talk about your Elo, your mastery points, how long you've played the champ, the guides you created elsewhere on other platforms, the players you coached directly and the results, your social media if you have an important lol-related Youtube or Twitch channel, etc...
## The guide --- Use the guide description to summarize what your guide covers, how it is taught, what players will learn, and what they will gain from the course. Explain why your guide is the best way for the player to improve quickly. Give a brief insight of what they can expect and add some flavor text.
## Best practices for the tone of your description --- ### 1. Ask yourself these questions before writing - What are the demographics of your ideal user? - Elo? Beginner/veteran on the champion? - What needs are you solving for your ideal user? *Examples* - ADCs struggle with farming in the mid game and the laning phase - Junglers struggle with jungle pathing and objective control - Top laners struggle with lane management, TP advantage, role in the mid and late game - Mid laners struggle with matchups and enemy jungler tracking
### 2. Get personal with your users - Speak directly to the students; say "You" instead of "players", "students", or "users". - Use easy-to-understand sentences of various lengths to keep players engaged. Here is a great example for inspiration. *Examples* Good: "*After completing this training, you'll start every game with a complete comprehension of what's coming next and how to win from the jungle position.*" Bad: "*This guide includes a complete comprehension of the jungle position*"
### 3. Stay positive and emphasize benefits - Focus on the benefits your guide provides to players. What problems will it solve for them? How will it change the way they play? - Stay positive and approachable as you walk players through what makes your course unique and what the they will learn. - If possible, add in some real-world examples to validate your topic *Examples* - *You'll learn how BDD crushes every lane with Zoe and how to do the same* - *You'll learn how Khan always perfectly times his Sion's knock-up*
--- #### Links to this page - [[Start here]] - [[Publish your guide]] - [[Sell your Live Guides]]
