# Lessons
## The Basics --- The _lessons_ allow you to create chapters for different topics and level of difficulty, so that you can share your knowledge in a structured way and allow players to pick a topic or progress through them in a natural way. Players can navigate between lessons and choose what they want to learn in their next game. **Players won't receive any tip in a given game that are not part of the selected *lesson*.**
>[!example] >You can decide that all your [[210 Tips|tips]] about the basics of the laning phase and a simple item path belong to the **first lesson**, and advanced mechanics of the laning phase and the champion’s combos belong to a **second lesson**.
![[Pasted image 20220805140436.png]]
1. By default, players play **2** games with one [[Lessons|lesson]] before moving to the next one. They can adjust this setting in their **Guide** → **Downloaded** page or during the **Draft** before a game starts.
![[Pasted image 20220805151111.png]]
2. Players can also navigate between [[lessons]] very quickly. During the draft phase, they can select which [[Lessons|lesson]] they want to learn in the incoming game.
![[Pasted image 20220805151508.png]]
3. They can also track their progression. [[Lessons]] learned have a check-mark near their name, and [[live guides]] have a global progression bar, in percentage, that tracks how many [[210 Tips|tips]] players already received. 4. You can create a potentially a infinite number of [[210 Tips|tips]] without spamming the users with [[210 Tips|tips]] in every single game, by giving players [[210 Tips|tips]] that are appropriate to their skill level.
## Getting Started --- Go to the [[guide editor]], open one of your [[live guides]] and navigate to one of the **[[230 Items & Abilities|items & abilities]]** , **[[250 Custom|custom]]** , or **[[240 Jungle|jungle]]** tabs. 1. Click on the **Guide Lessons** button 2. Write a name for your first [[Lessons|lesson]] 3. Click on a [[210 Tips|tip]] and select _assign this [[210 Tips|tip]] to Lesson 1_ 4. Your [[210 Tips|tip]] will only be displayed when players are using your guide with this lesson active
>[!tip] >By carefully selecting which [[210 Tips|tips]] are displayed in different [[lessons]], you create a learning path, where players can learn every concept step by step, easily navigate between [[lessons]], and track their progression.
>[!warning] > You have to meet the requirements of the “progression” content tag (listed in the “Publish” tab) for players to see and use those lessons
## Example --- You create a guide that includes basic [[210 Tips|tips]] to learn a champion and advanced [[210 Tips|tips]] that allow players to truly step up. Displaying them in every single game can overwhelm players. There will be too many of them, and they will require different levels of mastery. With the [[lessons]] feature, you can create a smooth learning curve for players where they will be able to learn a champion, step-by-step.
### Basic tips Let's say we want to create a [[Live guides|guide]] for **Nidalee Jungle**. The first thing to learn as a beginner would be to clear the [[240 Jungle|jungle]] efficiently. So in the first [[Lessons|lesson]], we'll only create [[210 Tips|tips]] on that specific topic.
### Intermediate tips Now that players master the [[240 Jungle|jungle]] clear, we can move on to early ganks (->[[250 Custom|Custom]] tab) and itemization (->[[230 Items & Abilities|items & abilities]]]). The next [[Lessons|lesson]] will be dedicated to these topics.
### Advanced tips At the end of the [[Live guides|guide]], we want to teach players how to take control of objectives and how to track the enemy jungler (->[[250 Custom|custom]]). So the last [[Lessons|lesson]] will focus on these topics and the [[210 Tips|tips]] will require players to use all the knowledge they have learned during the first games.
### Infinite tips Finally, there are [[210 Tips|tips]] that must be displayed in every game because they are valuable regardless of the player's progression: roam opportunities, dynamic objective control,... In that case, we won't assign these [[210 Tips|tips]] to a [[Lessons|lesson]].
>[!warning] >Note that you can’t assign any [[210 Tips|tip]] from the `enemies` and `allies` tab to a lesson
--- #### Links to this page - [[Start here]] - [[250 Custom|Custom]] - [[Guide Editor]] - [[240 Jungle|Jungle]] - [[210 Tips|Tips]]
